This Sr Electrical Engineer will own and lead harness & cable design, power distribution, and top interconnection & block diagrams. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-growing team in early stages of design, and to have a real impact on the products, technologies and work processes.
- Fully own all electrical interconnections. Design and maintain harness and cable diagrams, BOM and wire lists. From concept through design, component selection, documentation, troubleshooting, prototyping, to production and release
- Contribute to the system architecture and optimization discussions. Define and drive processes, methods and tools as needed
- Closely work and align with mechanical engineers on component selection, routing and modeling to develop coherent interconnections and other electromechanical items and components as needed
- Work and align with other internal teams as prototyping, production, system, and with external partners as JDM, CM, and suppliers
- 5+ years of experience in harness design, 3+ years of experience with electrical design
- Experience and understanding of electrical and mechanical system development, manufacturing process, troubleshooting and serviceability
- Strong electrical foundations: power, analog and digital signals and circuit understanding, common communications, power & signal integrity, EMI/ESD, grounding, shielding
- Hands-on approach and experience, can-do attitude, active and driven, with strong sense of ownership
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, ambiguity, and frequently changing requirements
- Independent, can define and maintain schedule, prioritize tasks, actively pursue input from others, get things done
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or other related fields
- Experience with low-voltage power design, including battery, charging, sensors, etc.
- Experience with peripheral electromechanical items as switches, actuators, sensors, etc.
- Experience with 3D CAD and with mechanical aspects like thermal, vibration, materials
- Familiarity with modern harness design tools like Zuken E3
- Familiarity with system engineering concepts, considerations, and methods
